He was identified as the third party to Peter and Will’s (Dean Andrews) plot to kill Kim Tate (Claire King), but things took a surprising turn when Will unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack.
Emmerdale revealed a surprise on Boxing Day that proved Joe was concealing something. He was observed to be in significant discomfort and required medication to alleviate the symptoms.

Ross (Michael Parr) had instructed Joe to keep Noah alone, so yesterday when he brought up the game tickets, Joe was forced to lie and claim they were sold out.
He implied that Ross’ warning hasn’t really taken hold when he informed Kim that he’s playing “the long game” and being “strategic” in his approach.
Many viewers of the ITV soap opera have questioned whether Joe is doing it for a specific reason because he is busy attempting to mend relationships with his family in the village while also dealing with health issues.
People believe Joe could need an organ donation because of these two factors as well as a situation earlier in the week where he was seen gripping his stomach.
Another admirer said on social networking site X: “Joe needs Noah’s kidney!” Another fan wrote: “I wonder if Joe needs an organ from Noah.”
