The following are spoilers for Wednesday’s (January 15) episode of Emmerdale, which is now accessible on ITVX. ITV1 will broadcast the aforementioned program at 7:30 p.m.
When Caleb Milligan (William Ash) found a DNA test in his wife Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) purse proving Steph (Georgia Jay) is not his daughter, his entire life fell apart in front of him.
As viewers are aware, Ruby was sexually molested as a girl by her father, Anthony (played by Nicholas Day), and her life has completely changed when the abuser returned.
She planned to finally determine whether Steph was Anthony’s real kid after speaking with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), but she ripped up the DNA test when she saw her daughter forming a relationship with Caleb.
She had no idea, though, that Caleb had already located the paper in her purse.
When the certificate revealed that he is not Steph’s father, a distraught Caleb approached Ruby about the matter as she hurried back to Mill Cottage.
Ruby was heartbroken. This indicates that Steph’s biological father is Anthony, the rapist, as she had assumed.
Instead of disclosing this knowledge, Ruby reminded Caleb that he is Steph’s father in all relevant respects.
Caleb, who was unaware of the whole situation, said that they had no chance of reconciliation after this, dissolving their marriage and expelling Ruby.
Is Ruby going to tell the truth? Will Anthony receive his retribution? Or is she going to remain quiet so Steph doesn’t know the truth?
With Anthony scheduled to be shot dead, next week will be a significant one for this plot. The issue is: who bears responsibility?
ITV1 broadcasts Emmerdale weeknights at 7:30 p.m., while ITVX streams it starting at 7 a.m.
