The “sensational” Beth Cordingly has received a ton of acclaim from Emmerdale viewers for her portrayal of Ruby Fox-Miligan in Wednesday’s episode.

Caleb Milligan’s (William Ash) life was forever altered in the tragic episode of the ITV soap opera when he found a DNA test in his wife Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) purse proving that his daughter Steph (Georgia Jay) is not his.

As viewers are aware, when Ruby was a teenager, her father Anthony (played by Nicholas Day) sexually assaulted her.

Regretfully, it was established that he was Steph’s biological father.

Instead of disclosing this knowledge, Ruby reminded Caleb that he is Steph’s father since he reared her as his own.

Fans expressed their opinions on social media after being astounded by Beth’s performance throughout the program.

One fan said on X (previously Twitter): “Ruby has rapidly emerged as one of my favorite #Emmerdale characters.” This is a heartbreaking tale. William Ash and Beth Cordingly will emotionally ruin me!

“Beth Cordingly is doing such a good job of this storyline,” a third person concurred. Tragic.

“Ruby is such a captivating character, I’m so intrigued and invested in her story,” someone another said. She’s played so brilliantly by Beth Cordingly. Wonderful casting.

Although the plot involving Caleb, Ruby, and Anthony is significant, it is really nasty. Another person said, “Caleb and Ruby’s acting in the kitchen scene is excellent.”

“Acting, especially Ruby, is superb,” said another.

What a scenario between Ruby and Caleb. Another admirer said, “My heart fell for him when he revealed he wasn’t Steph’s #Emmerdale.”

Anthony’s shooting death next week will elevate the narrative to new heights.

Which villager, though, is to fault?
